Managing Volumes

The HPE MR Storage Administrator application lets you perform various operations on the volumes.

The firmware supports the following virtual drive states on the controller:

• Optimal – A volume whose members are all online.

• Partially Degraded – A virtual drive with a redundant RAID level that can sustain one or more member disk failure. This state also applies to the virtual drive’s member drives. Currently, a RAID 6 or RAID 60 virtual drive is the only virtual drive that can be Partially Degraded.

• Degraded – A virtual drive with a redundant RAID level with one or more member failures and can no longer sustain a subsequent drive failure (with exception in PRL-11).
• Offline – A virtual drive with one or more member disk failures and data is no longer available (corresponds to DDF Failed state).
